February Favorites 2018

March 9, 2018lifewithcattitude

How’s everyone doing?? Good god, we are already into MARCH. It feels like this year is already flying by! I’m about to be 25, Travis and I will have been together seven months (I know, not a huge milestone, but it’s a big deal to me because that poor boy has put up with my nonsense for this long), and I’ve been hard at work on this blog for a few weeks now! February was a CRAZY month for me where I was going from work to blog to sleep to work to blog to sleep, lather, rinse, repeat. I didn’t really have too much time to find some favorite products of mine, so this will be kind of a short post. However, the few products I mention in this post are what I loved in the short month of February!

DISCLAIMER: I am not sponsored by or affiliated with any of the brands mentioned in this post. I’m just an avid consumer!

Beauty

Maybelline FitMe Foundation: I wore this foundation in college, back when I had no idea about technique or cleaning your brushes OR your face so it always made my face look super cake-y and gross. However, I decided to give this another go because I was looking for a drugstore foundation so I wasn’t always using my expensive Too Faced foundation. This is a great foundation for dry skin without being too cake-y. Yes, I picked a shade that’s SLIGHTLY too pink for my already pink undertones, but I mix it with the Born This Way foundation and it’s perfect. For about $6 including tax, I definitely recommend this foundation, even if you’re just looking around for the right shade.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara: This has just been my go-to mascara for a while, but especially this past month. My lashes are on the struggle bus lately, so any help I can get them is necessary!

Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Lotion: I bought this at Walmart for less than a dollar because Travis needed me to work out a huge knot in his lower back from work. I decided to keep it and use it as a mix of body and facial moisturizer, and let me tell you, this stuff is MAGICAL. My face feels way better using this instead of my other moisturizer. This is way less oily. I will be keeping this on hand at all times from now on!

Food/Snacks

Cape Cod Aged Cheddar and Sour Cream Kettle Cooked Chips: HOLY MOLY. I bought these chips on a whim for Travis’s and my stay-cation when he came home for the weekend, and I about devoured the whole bag in one sitting, they were so delicious! At first, they kind of have a salt and vinegar taste, but then you taste the cheddar. They’re up there in price so these are definitely considered a treat for when you have a little extra money in your grocery budget!

Veggie Spaghetti with Turkey Sauce: There’s not much to say about this other than I switch regular pasta for veggie pasta and ground beef for ground turkey. It doesn’t really make a difference because I still load it up with Parmesan, rendering the healthy choices practically void. I love making a big pot and portioning out lunches and dinners for the week, it’s so much easier than spending money every day on fast food!

Taco Bell Cheesy Gordita Crunch: Okay, you caught me. Before I decided to start making spaghetti meal preps, I was having Taco Bell for dinner on the regular. When you work 10:30 to 7, it’s tough to make yourself want to come home and cook dinner when the sun’s already down. Admittedly, it was also out of sadness because Travis left for Florida. However, if you are looking for something new at Taco Bell and haven’t tried this, please try it! It’s basically a crunchy taco wrapped in a cheesy flatbread with some spicy ranch sauce on it. It’s way more delicious than it should be, and every time I eat one, I think of Travis because he got me hooked on these. Bonus: ask them to use a Cool Ranch Dorito shell for even more flavor.

Bai Cimbu Citrus Sparkling Water: I tried so hard to stay out of the sparkling water trend. It’s basically still soda, so what’s the point?? They sell these at work and I just ignored them. However, this was at Dollar Tree for $0.50 so I just HAD to try it. It was actually pretty good! No, sparkling water is still not my favorite drink, but it is a little less guilt-inducing than soda, so it’s worth a shot!

Music

“Luxury’s Fortune” (Corp.): This one’s a weird one that I discovered in a Youtube video about this time last year. The reason I actually liked listening to this song so much last month is because I love looking back on how hard I was struggling then and compare it to now. Granted, I’m still struggling, but I’m in a much better place mentally and all I can do is smile and think about how far I’ve come in a year. I think everyone has a song that does that for them.

“Wicked Game” (Chris Isaak): I’ve watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S for pretty much my whole life and one episode in Season 2 had this song playing in the background. They also even had the guy who sang this song do a guest role in another episode in the same season (I imagine his way of waiving a copyright fee and/or giving his permission). It’s a somber song, but his vocals are strong and the lyrics are beautiful.

I know, this month is a little bare on favorites, but I promise there will be better monthly favorites coming! What were some of your February favorites?? Tell me in the comments below!
