June 2018 Favorites // Life Update

July 2, 2018lifewithcattitude

Happy–I can’t believe I’m already saying this–July, everyone! Geez, my blog is already almost five months old. It’s so hard to believe! If my blog was a baby, it’d be rolling over and possibly starting eating solids. Okay, I just had the strangest picture pop into my head thinking about that so for the sake of everyone’s sanity I’ll just move on. June was an amazing month for me! I started my new job, which I love, I finalized all the steps to going back to school, Travis and I are getting ever closer to our one-year anniversary, I got to see my favorite band in the world in concert, I started a new journey with Limelife By Alcone (a post all on its own coming soon), and so much more! With that said, I have been a little busy.

I’m still trying to figure out how to manage my time with my full time job, this blog, my three side hustles, and imminently going back to school. I’ve got two months to figure it all out, but I’m confident I can do it, and that I can continue to pump out quality posts for you guys! In terms of monthly favorites, I’ve got a doozy for you this month! Lots of great stuff I’ve gotten to try and grown to love! As I mentioned in my previous monthly favorites post, I hate the summer, so I’ve been really looking for products that don’t exacerbate the sweltering heat we’ve got going down here in Satan’s ove–I mean, Atlanta. So, without further ado, my favorite stuff from June! *Disclaimer: this post contains affiliate links. All this means is that if you use my links to make a purchase I make a small commission at no extra cost to you.

I’ll start with my most favorite:

BeBella Cosmetics “Maroon Mayhem” Palette: I talked in my Arctic Monkeys post about how I waited for this palette to come back in stock for MONTHS and how it was worth the wait. The palette is $27.99 plus tax and handling, so each shade comes out to about $1 each. The colors are so buttery smooth and pigmented, you would think that you got this palette from a bigger-known brand at Sephora. I took a chance on a brand I stumbled across on Instagram, and I’m very happy with the results! Check out my work with this palette on my best friend who accompanied me to the concert here!

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue in “Opal”: I’m on such a tinted moisturizer kick lately, but my go-to brand that I’ve been using since I was a preteen is no longer sold in stores! I decided to try something new. I had heard wonderful things about bareMinerals and the Complexion Rescue, it was one of the highest rated products on Sephora!

It gives a nice light amount of color and protects your skin with SPF. This is my first non-drugstore tinted moisturizer and I’m very pleased with the results!

Makeup Revolution Stick Foundation in “F2”: For the days that I DO want to wear foundation, I turn to my new favorite foundation product: stick foundation. Gone are the days of having to pump foundation onto my hands only to have to wipe it off after I’m done, when you can just slather this stuff straight from the stick all over your face. Then I take my wet Real Techniques sponge and just blend it out.

It is pretty thick so I would only suggest wearing it on days where you know for a fact you will be inside in the air conditioning all day. Otherwise you will be sweating this RIGHT off. However, that’s not to say that I do not thoroughly enjoy this foundation because I certainly do!

LimeLife By Alcone Perfect Blush and Translucent Powder Trio: I haven’t been wearing much blush lately except for the e.l.f. Blush and Bronzer Duo, but the blush has been very light. This product gives excellent color, and only requires maybe one or two touch-ups throughout the day. Below are the swatches, “03 Possible” on the left and “01 Alive” on the right.

The translucent powder is very useful for setting foundation, and it does not create a cake-y appearance!

LLBA Perfect Liner Pen: I will try super hard to not write a thesis on how much I love this product and wish it came into my life years ago when I was a young college kid spending hours upon hours perfecting a winged eyeliner. The amount of product wasted, the number of wipes used to erase and start over, the number of times my eyes were rubbed raw, all of it could have been saved with this eyeliner pen. It is such an amazing product, and definitely helpful for those who may still be trying to perfect a winged liner.

You can do thin lines or thick, and it helps keep your hand steady so there’s not a lot of room for error. It dries quickly on your eyelid so you don’t have to worry about waiting for it to dry before it ruins your perfect eyeshadow. I have nothing but good things to say about this product!

Beauty by PopSugar Tinted Lip Balm in “01 Choose Happy”: As I was purchasing another item for this monthly favorites post at Ulta, they had these on sale as a new item. I decided to give it a try, and I love it!

This shade is a nice dark nude color, and because it’s tinted lip balm and not lipstick, it doesn’t make your lips look or feel sticky or gross. It gives a nice sheer gloss, and is just overall a great way to add color this summer!

LLBA Perfect Lip Gloss in “Grace”: This can be worn alone or on top of another color to add a great coat of shine to your lips! A little goes a long way!

LLBA Enduring Lip Liner in “02 Light Nude” and Perfect Lip Color in “100” and “201”: For the days that I do happen to want to wear lipstick, these are my go-to products! Below are the swatches.

The lipsticks are a sheer finish so they give a beautiful glossy color instead of being matte-y and sticky. I absolutely love these lip products!

So, I’m well aware that this monthly favorites is very lip-heavy, but I’m trying really hard to incorporate more lip products into my stash, and I think I’ve found some good products to do just that! What were some of YOUR favorite products in June that you think I should look into and have for my stash? Let me know in the comments! Have a great and safe Fourth of July!
