August 2018 Lipstick Favorites

August 6, 2018lifewithcattitude

Hey guys! Happy AUGUST. Good God, June and July really just flew by, didn’t they? This whole year has, as a matter of fact. However, that is NOT going to stop me from being super excited to show off my monthly favorites, but this time I decided to switch it up and showcase the LIPSTICK that I have been absolutely loving as of late, because 1. I think I’m absolutely set for life on eyeshadow and face products, and 2. I missed the opportunity for a National Lipstick Day post. WE’RE SWITCHING GEARS THIS TIME.

Note: this post does contain affiliate links, which means that if you use my links to make a purchase, I get a small portion of that sale. The reason I use affiliate links is so I can make an income to keep providing you guys with quality content! You guys know I would never link anything I didn’t love 100% or  from brands I don’t trust. Thank you so much for helping me achieve my dream!

Makeup Revolution Lip Euphoria in “Aura”

Alright, so first of all, I love this liquid lipstick because it’s very glossy and doesn’t dry my lips. It does require a bit of setting, otherwise you’re going to be re-touching it about three or four times throughout the day. These are also at a GREAT price point at under $10 for a bottle that lasts a long time!

BH Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in “Serena”

I mentioned this product way back when in my BH Cosmetics haul post, but I absolutely love this lip color because it gives the perfect peachy finish for when I do looks with my Too Faced Just Peachy Matte palette.

Sometimes you can catch them on sale for as low as $6, but they’re always under $10.

Bite Beauty Matte Lip in “Chablis”

This one took a little getting used to. I’ve never used a lip crayon before, and at first, this stuff was sliding all over the place, always getting on my face, you name it. Once I started lining my lips, it was perfect. I have three of these in different colors but this one is just my favorite because it’s the best color for everyday wear.

It’s very long-lasting, requiring only one touch-up in an entire workday.

LimeLife By Alcone Perfect Lipstick in “Prim & Proper”

Yes, I already mentioned this product in my last monthly favorites post, but I honestly cannot get over this lipstick. It’s so glossy and sheer and I wear it almost every day for work. I’m about to buy a second one just to keep it at work! It provides just enough color to finish off a look, but it’s not so “BAM IN YOUR FACE” as my mom puts it.

I have another shade, “100: Knot Telling,” which you can check out on my last favorites post. If you’d like a lip color consultation, shoot me an email!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in “Milan”

My college roommate got me HOOKED on this stuff. This product took a little trial and error over the first few months to really get it down. As with all lip colors, you have to have your lips primed and exfoliated. Otherwise, this stuff will sink into every line and crack and make your lips look nasty. If you give your lips a nice scrubs with a toothbrush for about 30 seconds and then apply some balm, this stuff will look perfect.

I love NYX because they’re such a great price point for people who are not willing to drop loads on Kylie’s lip stuff (psssst, NYX’s lip stuff is almost an exact dupe). Try it out, and you will NOT be disappointed!

I have a few more lip products that I love, but I will feature them in later monthly favorites! I have been really trying to break out of my box and wear more lip colors even though I’m super self-conscious about my teeth. I’m getting there, though! So with that, I will close with a few questions:

  1. What are YOUR all-time favorite lip products?
  2. Do you prefer liquid lipstick, glosses, or the traditional matte lipstick?

Thanks so much for reading, and I hope everyone has a great start to their weekend!

I love NYX’s soft mattes, I love their brownshades because it works well with olive skin tones!
