Ways To Get Ready For Fall!
Well, you guys, it’s officially into August. And if you’re anything like me, it means you’re getting excited for fall! Even though I live in the cursed land of Atlanta where summer lasts THROUGH OCTOBER, that doesn’t stop me from wanting to pull all the stops to get ready for fall! I have my own little ways of getting ready that just make my little ol’ soul so happy, and I’m excited to share them all with you!

First and foremost, I break out my fall clothes! I’m a sucker for cute infinity scarves. I also love my basic long sleeve shirts and vests, they are my true fashion staple from about October to February. I also love adorable booties with my leggings. Steve Madden is my favorite brand because the shoes are sooooooo comfortable (so they’re worth the investment).

The next thing I do is switch my makeup looks! I start breaking out my darker and cooler products to create nice and sultry looks that are perfect for fall! Since the air is getting cooler and dryer, I can wear my full coverage foundations like my Limelife By Alcone Perfect Foundation or my Makeup Revolution Foundation Stick without worrying about them sliding all over the place! For eyeshadows I turn to my palettes that have cooler shadows like my Morphe 35P palette.

The next thing I do is switch up my coffee! Ever since college, my tastebuds have switched and I’m not a huge pumpkin spice fan anymore, but I can go to TOWN on some cinnamon flavored stuff, which is why I love that Dunkin donuts has a cinnamon roll flavored coffee that tastes great even with no creamer in it. But, since I know I’m in the small percentage of people who drink black coffee regularly, sometimes I’ll throw in some cinnamon roll creamer just for kicks and then just not eat anything sweet for the rest of the day (I’m trying to watch my sugar consumption). I absolutely love sitting on my back patio on Saturday mornings with a blanket and a book while sipping this coffee.
The thing that Travis and I love to do once it cools down is go look at the leaves! We went on a few hiking dates at the beginning of our relationship once it finally started cooling down. It’s just a great way to get out and smell the air with the changing leaves! I lived in western North Carolina for almost ten years and if you ever have the chance to visit there during the fall, I highly recommend coming to drive on the parkways.
One of my favorite things to do is switch up my candles. Of course, I love Bath & Body Works candles. Who the hell doesn’t?? I love their fall and winter collections. I may or may not have a whole drawer full of them because they had a crazy good sale last year.

The last thing I do, and probably my most favorite thing to do, is switch up my meal prep. Instead of cooking my normal chicken and veggies, I switch to SOUPS. As a kid, my sister and I constantly begged my mom to cook soup in the winter. Our favorite was chicken soup with rice, which is basically just shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, melted Swiss cheese, and white rice. It is so delicious and thick that one bowl is enough for a meal. Of course, there are ways to make it healthier, like switching to whole grain rice or even quinoa if you’re feeling brave. My other personal go-to is chili. There is NOTHING like a hearty bowl of chili with ground turkey, tomatoes, all kinds of beans, and tons of cumin and chili powder topped with cheese and sour cream. There are TONS of vegan recipes out there, just swap the turkey for more beans or tofu. It’s much easier than trying to mentally time chicken and veggies.
Okay so once I’m all dressed, I have a cup of coffee, some soup, a fall candle burning, what’s the last thing I love to do? Watch Harry Potter. I don’t even know why, but for some reason, the first one, Sorcerer’s Stone, has the PERFECT fall vibes for me. So I break out my collection (I have the 8-disk set which is cheaper than buying all the separate ones here) and start from the beginning.
So I really hope you guys enjoyed this list, especially if you’re like me and LIVE for fall! I’m absolutely obsessed and seriously can’t wait for fall! Have a great weekend, everybody!
